The sims servers are down and betweenlands are offline, EA has confirmed.
Players will be able to access betweenlands at a variety of times in the future, including via a new EA-branded mobile app, the Sims Mobile app, on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.”EA is committed to delivering high-quality content and experiences to our players,” EA’s senior vice president of global customer relations, Jeff Gerstmann, wrote in a statement.
“We’ve been working hard to bring you all the great content we’ve been building for you, and we’re excited to bring it back to you soon.”
As for the future of the Betweenlands series, that’s still unclear.
EA did not say when the game would be coming back to the platform.
In other EA news, EA’s global media business will continue to grow with the acquisition of The Sims Digital Media Group.
EA will continue its push into digital publishing with The Sims 4: Stories of Love, a game set in a romantic relationship, The Sims: The Complete Collection and the SimCity games, which will all be available for free to download and play.EA also said it will continue the EA Access service that lets players download and stream games and EA Sports games.
The company also announced that it is buying online gaming service EA Games, a deal that is expected to close later this year.
