Queen Elizabeth II is the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom, but she’s not always the one to get a big promotion.
In the new MTV series, Queen Elizabeth: The Queen, the queen and her family are shown doing what they do best — working, traveling, and entertaining — but sometimes their behavior is so off-putting that the world wonders why the queen is being so open about her family’s misdeeds.
For instance, on one occasion, the royals’ eldest daughter, Princess Charlotte, is shown hanging out with a group of young white men in the city of Manchester, England.
They are all wearing T-shirts that read “Dump Queen Elizabeth.”
The young men are dressed in black, with their faces covered by black hoods.
They’re not wearing hats.
They don’t have a name.
They have no facial expressions.
The young men, some of whom are wearing face masks, stare at the queen, who looks down.
She’s in her 70s.
The scene is shocking, but it’s not the only one.
When Charlotte and her brothers, Prince Charles and Princess Anne, are seen talking to the group of men, they are clearly not enjoying themselves.
They seem to be making a point.
The Queen says she doesn’t think the young men “deserve” the attention they’re receiving.
She says that they are “trying to get attention.”
In other words, the young people don’t deserve her attention.
In response, the men say that Charlotte and the others “deserved” to be treated with disrespect.
In other words: You deserve this.
In other terms: I don’t care.
This is what it feels like when you have to live in constant fear of the consequences of your actions.
