The biggest issues for Roma (14 points) and Inter (14 goals) this season were the same as last year, but the Nerazzurri have managed to find a solution for their current issues.
“I think we were the only ones that started a lot of games in the last two weeks, but we didn’t play very well,” Coach Walter Mazzarri said.
“We played very well last year but also in the second half.
The players came together to give us some chances, but not so much that we scored more goals.
It was not a perfect season, but it was the best we had been for many years.
I think we should be proud of our performances and our performance in the first half against Sassuolo and also in those three games against Udinese and Juventus.”
Mazzarrie also praised his squad’s performance in those games.
“We have not played a game with two or three players out injured, so I think that’s good.
I hope we can keep that trend,” he said.
Roma will start the season against Sassus next weekend at 1pm, but Mazzarelli admitted the squad could be rested for the visit of Udinese.
“It is a very difficult week for the squad,” he added.
“They have to get back, we need to recover and also recover for the match against Sassa.”
